I had the privilege of seeing two new Hong Sang Soo features from 2013. The only two. Two too many. I say privilege, I mean misfortune. Neither Nobody's Daughter Hae Won nor Our Sun Hi was capable of convincing me of Hong's supposed talents, which have been hailed by critics and cinephiles the world over. My experience of watching, and failing to enjoy, Hong's films to date won't prevent me from watching more of his films in future - he's too significant a part of the current cinematic conversation for me to willfully ignore his input into the medium, but my expectations (despite what I've noted as a slight improvement over his past three films) remain low.
