He might have missed out on a Best Director nod in the Oscar nominations earlier today, but there's some good news for Paul Greengrass coming out of the ACE. No wonder, since his films regularly showcase such brilliant editing, working with Oscar-winner Christopher Rouse. He joins an esteemed roster including Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Francis Ford Coppola and Clint Eastwood in being rewarded the American Cinema Editors' Filmmaker of the Year Award. He'll be presented with the award at the ceremony on the 7th of February, where his film Captain Phillips is nominated for Best Edited Feature Film (Dramatic). Additionally, it has been reported that Greengrass is set to adapt David Ignatius' espionage thriller novel The Director, also to be directed by Greengrass and to be produced by Michael De Luca and Scott Rudin.
