LAFF annually features a celebration of women's achievements in film, and so it is apt that their guest director for their upcoming 2014 festival will be Academy Award nominated writer-director Lisa Cholodenko, the acclaimed filmmaker behind dramas such as High Art, Laurel Canyon and The Kids Are All Right. She joins an impressive roster of directors who have held the position at LAFF, including William Friedkin, Alfonso Cuaron and one of Cholodenko's leading contemporaries in American female-helmed cinema, Kathryn Bigelow. The fest runs from the 11th to the 19th of June.
