MAGIC MIKE XXL SET FOR SUMMER 2015

After XXL grosses, 2012's Magic Mike has spawned a sequel, hardly what was expected for what was one of Steven Soderbergh's low-budget art films, but which succeeded in attracting blockbuster crowds. It was a major step toward Matthew McConaughey winning his Oscar earlier this year, and helped to cement Channing Tatum as a major box office draw. Tatum will co-write the screenplay with the first film's writer, Reid Carolin, with the now-retired Soderbergh's assistant director, Greg Jacobs, taking the reins. A release date has been set! After the first Magic Mike made all those summer bucks, Warner Bros. is hoping the magic happens again, with a release on the 3rd of July, 2015, now on the schedule.
