There's a place for fun family movies in the cinematic landscape, and 2010's How to Train Your Dragon was certainly one of them. And, just like the films of Aleksandr Sokurov (yep, just like them), mother and son is a notably better deal than father and son. Or so we shall find out when this is released in the US on the 13th of June and in the UK on the 4th of July. That said, I'm not into grand visual splendour and thrills in animation, compared to the same in live-action. But a summer release for the sequel to a spring hit? That's ballsy, so it could be good.
