After Inside Llewyn Davis failed to connect with audiences outside of arthouses, the Coen brothers are set to make a return to more mainstream moviemaking with Hail Caesar! Josh Brolin joins George Clooney in the cast of the comedy about a fixer in 1950s Hollywood, managing the public reputations of troubled movie stars. CBS Films did a poor job of reaching out beyond the Coens' core fanbase with Llewyn Davis, so the Coens have jumped ship to Universal, which has acquired worldwide distribution rights to the film, which looks set to be one of the brothers' biggest commercial hits to date at this early stage.
