ONLINE FILM CRITICS SOCIETY NOMINATIONS IMPRESS WITH THEIR INDEPENDENCE

The Online Film Critics Society has announced its nominations for 2014, a week ahead of its awards on the 15th of December. A typically eclectic list from the group, but one stocked full of worthy nominees. As usual, the OFCS has bypassed awards season hype and has sought out the titles which they appear to honestly opine are the finest of the year, and I'd be inclined to agree with them on several cases. Interesting to note that certain titles with Oscar buzz, such as Birdman and Gone Girldo not appear in either the Best Picture or Director categories, but do appear with some frequency in others.
