Once more, The Grand Budapest Hotel defies expectations by triumphing with another critic group's awards. The North Carolina Film Critics Association has chosen Wes Anderson's new comedy as its favourite film of 2014, ensuring that it rises to occupy a position in their favour alongside Birdman as their choice contenders against current Oscar race frontrunner Boyhood.
