Remember this lot? Their nominees were posted in the strangest order - an order which I could only decipher as their order of preference based on their nomination process. Their winners seem to back this up. Some of the winners weren't in first place at that stage - Michel Hazanavicius climbs from fourth (perhaps on the strength of buzz for The Artist) to tying with Terrence Malick, Brad Pitt leapfrogs George Clooney, while The Descendants gets its own back, claiming first place for its screenplay over Moneyball, Jessica Chastain takes over from Elizabeth Olsen for Breakout Star and Page One makes perhaps the biggest improvement, from fourth to first.
