The three films included in both Oscar sound categories lead with the MPSE, the final guild to announce its nominations, as usual. Argo, Life of Pi and Skyfall join The Hobbit (nominated for neither Oscar) with three nominations, recognised for their sound effects, dialogue and music editing. With the sound categories, the Academy tends to pick obvious or easy choices, due to the general confusion surrounding what the difference is between mixing and editing. But, with the MPSE, you can trust them to make slightly better-informed decisions. And we'll find out what those decision are on the 17th of February. Follow the links for details of nominees - I can't be fucked typing all that shit out.
No problem, brother.
ReplyDeleteMuch appreciated.
Its nice to be getting to download in pdf without difficulty.
Well, I'd love to see THE LIFE OF PI score a few times here! But it seems like some other multiplex heavy hitters may well prevail.
ReplyDeleteAlways hard to tell how the sound categories will go, whether with AMPAS, CAS or MPSE. Life of Pi would be a good choice, though.
