BRITISH INDEPENDENT FILM AWARD WINNERS - METRO MANILA TRIUMPHANT


Metro Manila, Sean Ellis' Philippines-set film which is the UK's official Best Foreign Language Film entry to this year's Oscars, has just won the top prize at the British Independent Film Awards. Nominations suggested that Starred Up and The Selfish Giant had been the most popular films with voters, but between their 15 nominations they could only rack up two wins.
