Hardly a vintage year for musicals, and so Oscar Isaac's titular role as Llewyn Davis in the Coen brothers' latest takes my prize for the best vocal performance of 2013, over not very much competition. Fare Thee Well (Dink's Song) and The Death of Queen Jane are highlights from the soundtrack, both featuring Isaac's vocal, and who could forget Please Mr. Kennedy, with Justin Timberlake and Adam Driver. That soundtrack, supervised by T-Bone Burnett, will likely go down as one of 2013's most iconic and popular.
