Pablo Trapero's Un Certain Regard jury will begin screening competition films on the 15th of May, and the secondary section of the Cannes Film Festival (which opens a day earlier, with Olivier Dahan's Grace of Monaco) will kick off with Party Girl. It's a French film from three first-time directors, Marie Amachoukeli, Claire Burger and Samuel Theis, about an ageing nightclub hostess who, in fear of having to relinquish her partying lifestyle, marries a client. The central character of Angelique will be played by none other than Angelique, on whose experience the scenario is based.
