SUMMIT BEING SUED OVER MILLIONS FOR TWILIGHT

This is gonna get far more complicated than the shit I usually post here. Goldcrest Film Distribution claims that it entered into a pre-sale agreement with Summit Entertainment, the Lionsgate partner that produced the Twilight films, whereby it paid $10 million toward the cost of the book adaptations in return for distribution rights and net revenues from the worldwide gross. They've filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court in which they allege that Summit was intentionally coy about its box office prospects for the films, and overstated the funds they'd require from Goldcrest during production. It's a matter, officially, of breach of contract and declaratory relief, and Goldcrest seeks damages and restitution of a currently-unspecified amount. That's as basic as I can put it. And even then I'm not sure I get it. Wasn't cut out for the courts, me! Unless they're all like the courtroom in Chicago.
