ANNIE SILVERSTEIN'S SKUNK WINS CANNES CINEFONDATION


16 student films screened in the Cinefondation section of the Cannes Film Festival. They were selected from 1,631 entries to be judged by a jury led by former Palme d'Or recipient Abbas Kiarostami and comprising also of Mahamat Saleh-Haroun, Noemie Lvovsky, Daniela Thomas and Joachim Trier (get that for a jury!). The winners are listed below.

First Prize (15,000 Euros and a guarantee that their first feature film will be presented at the Festival de Cannes)
Skunk (Annie Silverstein) - University of Texas at Austin, USA

Second Prize
Oh Lucy! (Hirayanagi Atsuko) - NYU Tisch School of the Arts Asia, Singapore

Third Prize
The Bigger Picture (Daisy Jacobs) - National Film and Television School, UK
Lievita Madre (Fulvio Risuleo) - Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, Italy
