GOTHAM INDEPENDENT FILM AWARDS PICK BIRDMAN; AUDIENCE PICKS BOYHOOD


The Gotham Awards have been announced, with Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu's Oscar-tipped Birdman taking the group's top prize. Its lead, Michael Keaton, also won an award, in a slate of winners that ought to prove popular with audiences. In particular, the Audience Award itself went to Richard Linklater's Boyhoodwhich was also the pick of another New York based group yesterday, the NYFCC. Here are the full results:
