MASSIVE INDIANA FILM JOURNALISTS ASSOCIATION NOMINATION LISTS

I'm not sure what the voting procedure is for the Indiana Film Journalists Associaton's end-of-year awards, but judging by the wealth of offerings, I rather like it. Though it is hard to discern which films have been particularly successful with the group, and after last year's surprise selection of winners, we'll just have to wait until tomorrow (the 16th of December) to find out, when they choose their winning films and people.

  1. Hi, I'm Christopher Lloyd, an IFJA member. In answer to your question, we have an open nomination process. That means it only takes a single nomination to make the list. While many (in fact, most) of the nominees in some categories will not actually receive any votes when it comes to the actual ballots, we like publicizing this list as a way of showing people what we're paying attention to and deem worthy. (Including a few oddball choices that always sneak in as people put in their outlier favorites.)

    1. Thanks for commenting! And for clarifying. I quite like your method of voting at IFJA, as it helps to prove that some of those more 'oddball' choices do actually have support, when it might seem like the critical consensus on them wasn't as strong.
